Expertise

The Laboratory of Parasitology at the Veterinary Research Institute Hellenic Agricultural Organisation (VRI-HAO) - Demeter has long-term experience in collaboration on the basis of interstate agreements and in the frame of EU Programs and sufficient technical and personnel capabilities to conduct research and provide training for the young researchers. The team has many years of experience in managing research projects, dealing with all sorts of human/animal health protection and to improve product quality/safety addressing EU Policy priorities. The Team of VRI-HAO is dealing with echinococcosis for several years, since is one of the most important zoonoses in the country and have participated in all initiatives (national and international) taken during the past years.

Role in the project

VRI-HAO will support the development and harmonization of new tools, perform surveillance activities, participate in all sampling, diagnostic and vaccination endeavors as well as support project management and dissemination activities. HAO-VRI will lead WP4 and participate in all other WP involved and leading several tasks.
