Expertise

University of Melbourne (UoM) has 40 years’ experience with Echinococcus granulosus control and diagnosis. Inventor of the EG95 vaccine against E. granulosus, the only effective and only commercially registered vaccine against infection with Echinococcus spp.

Role in the project

Advisor to oversee the progress of the project, give advises on project execution, dissemination and training needs and to support the consortium in the advocacy of ECHINO-SAFE-MED policy recommendations. UoM will have access to the full project proposal and progress reports and will be invited to provide independent comments on progress and project integration. UoM will be invited to attend annual meetings and/or visits the study areas where the integrated programme (e.g. lamb vaccination) will be conducted.
